Nissan today launched two new hot hatchbacks in the form of the all-new Nissan Pulsar and the latest Nissan Note at the Singapore Motorshow 2017. Alongside the hatchback debuts, Nissan is providing a glimpse of its Nissan Intelligent Mobility strategy, its vision for the automotive future in the face of rising challenges across the region.

Launch of all-new Nissan Pulsar
Combining bold design, technical innovations and excellent interior space, the all-new Nissan Pulsar brings a fresh dimension to the hatchback segment, offering all the familiar Nissan qualities in a stylish new package.

Instantly recognisable with its trademark Nissan V-Motion grille and signature boomerang-shaped LED lighting with bold and energetic curves on the body side, Nissan Pulsar combines strong lines with immaculate detailing to create an elegant, athletic form.

Pulsar’s all-turbocharged 1.2L engine offers the perfect combination of performance and efficiency. It punches above its weight with an output of 115PS and high torque of 165Nm, while delivering an excellent fuel efficiency of 5.1L/100km and CO2 emission of 119g/km enabling it to enjoy a $10,000 CEVS rebate.

Mated to an advanced Xtronic CVT transmission, Pulsar is engineered to deliver the best of both worlds for drivers, it features ultra-smooth power delivery at low engine speeds and positive, direct shifts under heavier loads.

Nissan Pulsar also redefines what buyers can expect in a hatchback. Thanks to a long wheelbase (2,700mm) and clever positioning of the seats, the Pulsar enjoys the excellent rear legroom (692mm), giving the utmost comfort to the rear passengers. The Pulsar also comes with a practical boot that combines a large capacity (385 litres) with a wide loading aperture. For those requiring even more load volume, the 60:40 rear seats simply fold flat to liberate 1,395 litres of space. Despite this, it retains a compact footprint (length 4,387mm), making it easy to park in tight urban environments.

Completing the Pulsar's packaging masterclass is a superior build quality where Nissan’s design and ergonomics team has created a cabin environment that combines comfort, style and usability through a host of premium features eg. intelligent key system with push start ignition, LED headlights, and a 6.9-inch high-capacitive touch screen interface.

2017 Nissan Note debuts in Singapore
Following its global unveiling in Japan in November 2016, the 2017 Nissan Note has now arrived in Singapore. The Note accentuates its forward-looking style with the iconic V-Motion grille and newly designed front and rear bumpers and headlights, producing a low and wide stance. The signature boomerang-shaped rear combination lights paired with the new front fascia asserts the dynamical strength and vibrant character of the Note. On the inside, Note’s cabin gets an uplift with premium leather seat upholstery as well as a sportier steering wheel design.

Offered with new vibrant colours and aerodynamic design, the 2017 Nissan Note combines the best of Nissan’s innovation and technology, striking a perfect balance between functionality and fun while delivering endless excitement.

The well-loved features such as the 1.2L DIG-S engine remains unchanged, delivering a smooth drive performance while achieving outstanding fuel economy of 4.6L/100km, with 98PS of power output and 142Nm of torque and the impressive interior length of up to 2,065mm, giving generous cabin space for all your needs.

“Following the successful introduction of our Nissan Crossovers, we are ready to take Nissan to the next level with the launch of our new hatchback range. The Pulsar and 2017 Note will complement our current Nissan product line-up and widen Nissan’s appeal to a bigger target audience,” said Mr Glenn Tan, Executive Director of Tan Chong International Limited.

Nissan Intelligent Mobility
The e-POWER variant of the 2017 Note, which was unveiled in Japan recently, will also be on display at the Singapore Motorshow. This model offers an insight into Nissan Intelligent Mobility – the company’s vision to make transportation safer, smarter, and more enjoyable, with the ultimate goal of achieving zero-emissions and zero-fatalities. Intelligent Mobility will guide Nissan on how its cars are powered, driven, and integrated into society, all while staying focused on creating more enjoyable driving experiences.

At the core of Nissan Intelligent Mobility are three areas of innovation:
#Nissan Intelligent Driving – creating more driver confidence, spearheaded by Nissan's autonomous drive technology, ProPILOT.
#Nissan Intelligent Power – more efficiency, more power, spearheaded by electric vehicle (EV) technologies such as e-POWER, an electric-motor drive system.
#Nissan Intelligent Integration – keeping people more connected and shaping a sustainable ecosystem from making cars interact with people, other cars and road infrastructure.

“Nissan Intelligent Mobility is about building a better future for Nissan customers where cars are their partners, helping drivers to become more confident and more connected,” said Mr Yutaka Sanada, Regional Senior Vice President and Head of the Operations Committee in Asia & Oceania for Nissan Motor Corporation Limited.

Other vehicle exhibits at the show include Nissan’s best-selling Crossovers – Juke, Qashqai, and X-Trail along with other popular passenger vehicles.

Tan Chong Motor Sales is pleased to announce that the all-new 2017 Nissan GT-R is now open for booking. The new Nissan GT-R sports an exciting fresh look both inside and out, as well as major driving performance enhancements and key new features, all of which represent the most significant changes made to the model since it was introduced in 2007.

Aggressive Exterior with Enhanced Aerodynamic Performance
The new GT-R's exterior gets a complete makeover across the front end. The new chrome matte finish "V-motion" grille with an updated mesh pattern, representing one of Nissan's latest design signatures, has been enlarged to provide better engine cooling, while the bumper sides were optimally reshaped to retain the car’s air drag and downforce. A new hood, which flows flawlessly from the grille, has been significantly reinforced, contributing to stability during high-speed driving. A freshly designed front spoiler lip and front bumpers with finishers situated immediately below the headlamps give the new GT-R the look of a pure-bred racecar, while generating high levels of front downforce.

The GT-R’s familiar wind-cutting shape defines its profile, but the side sills have been pushed out to help improve air flow. The rear of the car also received a thorough makeover. While the GT-R’s hallmark four-ring taillights remain, new bodywork helps improve air flow, as well as side air vents next to the quad exhaust tips. Also, the belt line that separates the lower black section from the body panel has been heightened to give the car a wider and more aggressive stance from the rear. These exterior changes don’t result just in a sportier-looking car, they create an aerodynamically efficient vehicle, but retaining the same amount of downforce and air drag as the current GT-R to keep the car stable at high speeds.

Premium Interior with Better Operability
The entirely new dashboard and instrument panel is covered with high quality leather which is artfully stitched together with TAKUMI precision. The shape of the dashboard adopts a “horizontal flow” that delivers a sense of increased stability for front seat passengers, while the line from instrument cluster to the centre console gives a distinct driver-oriented environment for those behind the steering wheel. An 8-inch touch-screen monitor with large icons on display screen and a new Display Command control located on the carbon-fibre centre console allows easy operation.

Drivers get increased control during hard cornering as the shift paddles are now mounted to the new steering wheel, allowing drivers to change gears in mid-turn without having to take their hands off the wheel. The paddles, along with the ventilation controls, have improved feel and better sound when engaged or adjusted. Dial controls of audio and heater machined from an aluminium block deliver craftsmanship and quality clicking feel. Pursuing better operation based on ergonomics, the air conditioner outlets adopt a more iconic and exquisite design suited for GT-R.

Exceptional Drive Performance
The GT-R's award-winning 3.8L, 24 valves 6-Cylinder, twin-turbocharged engine – each unit handcrafted by its own Takumi master craftsman – now delivers 570 horsepower at 6800rpm and 632Nm of torque. The improved output, which is the result of individual ignition-timing control of the cylinders developed for the GT-R NISMO and extra boost from the turbochargers, allows the new GT-R to possess superior acceleration in the mid- to high-ranges. The engine is mated to a thoroughly refined 6-speed dual clutch transmission that features smoother shifts and reduced noise levels.

The GT-R has always been regarded as one of the world's best handling machines, and for 2017, its cornering abilities have been enhanced. A more rigid body structure enables better settings of shock absorber, spring and stabilizer rates, and improved road-holding capability, agility and precision of the suspension. All these result in better grip of the tyres and responsiveness even when driving at high speeds. The new GT-R’s enhanced straight-line stability, which reduces steering corrections and fluctuations of the yaw rate by about 30 percent and about 20 percent, respectively, compared to those of the 2015 Nissan GT-R, gives drivers a more poised and confident ride.

Riding Comfort
Despite all the performance enhancements, the 2017 GT-R is the most comfortable model to date, with a new sense of elegance and civility that one would rarely find in such a high performance supercar. The new GT-R exhibits a smoother ride quality than the outgoing model, and its cabin remains much quieter at all speeds due to new sound absorption materials. That familiar GT-R tone also has been upgraded with an engine that has never sounded better.

“We’re very excited to introduce the new 2017 Nissan GT-R in Singapore. As the icon of Nissan’s driving performance, the GT-R continues to evolve. And this latest model certainly lives up to its reputation as the supercar designed for anyone, anytime, anywhere. With its updated design and enhanced performance, we are confident that it will have an even stronger appeal to supercar lovers here,” said Mr Glenn Tan, Executive Director of Tan Chong International Limited.
